Guitar Tutor Pro is on the same level as Unlock The Guitar but where UTG spends more time focusing on the very beginner, GTP assumes you have just a little bit of knowledge already and moves rather quickly at the start. For some this may be good for others it may not.

If you're a fast learner and feel you can keep up then that's not a problem, but later on the lessons seem to slow back down a bit and then you flow right along with them. You're taught more of a classical way by learning tablature, scales, notes and even goes into chords.

Although the quality of the product is very well presented and organized, once again there are no videos in which you can view. The pictures that go along with the content are nicely done, but videos just make for a much better experience especially trying to learn the guitar.

The overall quality and content is very nice for the price. While it doesn't go as in depth as some of the others it still ranked well enough for us to agree that it's worth the money if you're not wanting something like Learn & Master Guitar or Jamorama. The software is nice and the members are is easily accessible.
Summary:
Learning scales, tablature, and notes are not what most people are wanting to learn, however you have to start somewhere and this product teaches about the history and the theory of the guitar in a way some may think is boring. Most people just wan to jump in and start playing and sad to say you won't do that with this course or our #3 pick above.
Final Thought:
Alot of what you learn in this course could be found in other various books on the internet or at your local library, however the software makes this more than just a book course. Still when it comes to learning the guitar I think you need to have someone showing you instead of looking at pictures and teaching yourself. Audios are nice but videos are more helpful in the long run.

As someone totally new to the guitar, I had no idea I had to learn all this stuff in order to play. At this point in my life I thought it would be nice to learn how to play for leisure or hobbie, but not if I have to learn tablature and scales etc...

Guitar Tutor is complicated in my opinion. I'm gonna give Jamorama or Learn and Master a little more thought. They look easier, a least someone will actually be showing me things.

I wasn't completely new to the guitar so I found Guitar Tutor Pro just what I was looking for. It was easy to access and the theory was the main thing I was looking for. Learning scales, tablature and the other things really helped my playing alot. A beginner may find this hard to understand, but it was perfect for me.
